This is a dramatic change. When I first looked at this kitchen, I thought that it was dark but not too bad. The cabinets were cherry and could possibly be saved. The homeowner wanted a total tear out and knew that there were structural problems. She was right! We found that the back wall was half rotten. We ended up tearing off the back porch and adding a new bay window to bring in light. It was very dark when I took the before pictures. I even put on every light that I could find. Notice how much the extra lighting has added to the warmth of the new kitchen. You can accomplish alot with lighting.
